Home » Ask the Experts » Are forehead thermometers accurate?

There are a lot of forehead thermometers on the market at the moment. However, they’re not all the same. The vast majority of them were designed specifically for domestic use; there’s no way really of confirming the accuracy. Our device, by contrast, was designed specifically for use in clinical environments, and is very robust. We also supply a calibration checker device which can be used anytime, if for any reason you need to confirm the accuracy of the TRITEMP™. The device has an accuracy within 0.2 degrees Celsius which is in compliance with the ASTM guidelines. Therefore, it can be used in a clinical environment.
